Please.Alan Mannhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12570505944559196118noreply@blogger.comBlogger4125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-1140661250112088992006-02-22T21:20:00.000-05:002006-02-22T21:20:00.000-05:00...i read on Thoroughbred Times today that HRTV is......i read on Thoroughbred Times today that HRTV is doing two shows on the Fasig-Tipton under-tack shows???...have you guys seen the broadcast?...it looks like they had one this morning, and one tomorrow morning?...if you guys happen to see the show, i'd love to hear your impressions...btw, i misspelled the dam's name on the Foresty colt who worked in 9.80 seconds...he's out of Magical Masquerade...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-1140648891410125952006-02-22T17:54:00.000-05:002006-02-22T17:54:00.000-05:00...well, i caught Strong Contender's 3yo debut, an......well, i caught Strong Contender's 3yo debut, and i was duly impressed...he broke sharply and did all the dirty work on the front end, turning back every challenge...fractions were sharp, 23.81, 45.85, 109.50, 134.67...the internal fractions show a blazing second quarter of 22.04, during which he shook off High Cotton with ease...it didn't look like he was being asked for his best at any point, but he was pushed along, not in hand except perhaps very briefly at the end...the final quarter was a slowish 25.17, obviously due to his early exertions...that being said, he DID still get the final furlong in 12 and change, pretty damn good considering he went 109.50 and 122 something...the final time was damn good also, especialy considering this colt hadn't run since last August, was probably in need of the race, and probbaly wasn't 100% cranked...very impressive...i imeediately consulted my Derby sheets, only to find that the best available price is 60/1, and that was BEFORE today's race???...60/1 on a colt with one career start (at 6 furlongs), who hadn't run since last August???...one place has him as low as 18/1, for cripes sake!...unreal...incidentally, i watched the replay of Scanlon's Song's maiden win, and he loked pretty solid...time for the race was slow however, and being a Jan 28 Aqueduct maiden race, i can't imagine he was beating much...but again, he seems to be keeping good company in the morning hours, and he's obviously very highly-regarded by his connections...i can't help but wonder if his deep-closing style is gonna pose a problem however, there just aren't a lot of good stakes horses who come from that far back...but it was only one race, so perhaps he'll show more speed in subsequent efforts...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-1140639712264995812006-02-22T15:21:00.000-05:002006-02-22T15:21:00.000-05:00..i have both Achilles of Troy and Scanlon's Song .....i have both Achilles of Troy and Scanlon's Song in my Virtual Stable, and i received e-mails on their respective workouts this morning...each went 5 furlongs over the Aqueduct inner track, with Achilles of Troy clocked in 101.81 and Scanlon's Song in 101.01...hmmm...is it possible they worked in company, and Scanlon's Song outworked Achilles of Troy by 4 lengths???...it certainly seems possible, especially the way Paragallo and Pederson have been talking recently...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-1140625748982855872006-02-22T11:29:00.000-05:002006-02-22T11:29:00.000-05:00Yeah, he's a regular Stephen Colbert.
