Spitzer, NYRA (Duncker) and Getnick were out to bury Empire from the get go. NY racing went to the bottom of the toilet when the NYRA surfaced as the winner.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-61715711180509245752008-04-04T12:03:00.000-04:002008-04-04T12:03:00.000-04:00What about Noe and Meyocks - they started the whol...What about Noe and Meyocks - they started the whole mess with their greedy and arrogant ways.
If those little dictators never got control, NYRA would be just fine.
The teller scandal was only the tip of the iceberg - it was Noe and Meyocks' abuse of taxpayer money given to them via the Capital Fund - they made NYRA their own country club and ruled it by taking no prisoners.
Thank Noe and Meyocks for this mess but just be glad Empire was not awarded the franchise -Noe and Meyocks had their hands into that till pretty deeply and things would have gotten worse.

Good luck jockeys - watch your bank accounts.

3:17 PMmickeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10627714997854832985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-7382407678087091292008-04-04T00:08:00.000-04:002008-04-04T00:08:00.000-04:00I don't disagree that Ms. Hamann's report seemed t...I don't disagree that Ms. Hamann's report seemed to single out Empire for extra scrutiny. But I blame that on Empire, not on NYRA. Empire brought it upon themselves with their hypocrisy and shady dealings. Everything in that report was either already the subject of speculation or buried right there in Empire's franchise proposal (but conveniently not mentioned in their press releases our on their town meetings).Alan Mannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12570505944559196118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-12599380020538011492008-04-03T20:25:00.000-04:002008-04-03T20:25:00.000-04:00Now that former governor Spitzer's Inspector Gener...Now that former governor Spitzer's Inspector General Kristine Hamann is resigning, I wonder if she tells the truth about her NYRA induced unsavory integrity report on Empire Racing Associates? She did her best to reverse the pressure on this group while protecting the problematic incumbent racing organization.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-82167412559577941752008-04-03T15:33:00.000-04:002008-04-03T15:33:00.000-04:00>>Completely off topic. That said, the "new NYRA" is not subject to the competitive bidding process for such contracts, at least according to Charlies most recent statement.

Would be best for all, including NYRA, if the contract is voided, surprised Charlie is pushing in its favor.

For $125,000 per month, they could hire a qualified accounting firm to internally audit the books AND a qualified private detective firm to monitor the operations.

Just what is Getnicks "expertise"? Other than obtaining politically connected do nothing rubber stamp monitoring jobs, or course.

Alan, maybe Charlie can show you the audit program of specific monthly tasks they are to perform on the books and the internal control improvements they plan to implement, as well as the general security enhancements they will provide?

Doubt it even exists.

I was a NYRA advocate for the franchise, but hated this part of the deal. Was hoping it was forced upon them by Spitzer, but now sounds like Charlie is one board.

He should void the deal now that he is provided the opportunity, and pump another 1.5M to the bottom line.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-26763388249922017272008-04-03T08:20:00.000-04:002008-04-03T08:20:00.000-04:00Maybe continued violation of state laws and the ev...Maybe continued violation of state laws and the ever emerging links to the corrupt Spitzer are part of the "New" NYRA's "path to profit?"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-26892003199422233152008-04-02T21:42:00.000-04:002008-04-02T21:42:00.000-04:00Completely off topic. It's only a matter of time before the real truth emerges on the racing franchise award "fix." It will be of no surprise to those that suspected foul play involving Spitzer and Duncker's gang from the get go. Justice should be served.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
