It wasn't too long ago, when Repole was just a bettor, and he wanted all the information on a horse that he could get. Times have changed. He's a salesman, peddling Vitamin Water and Pirate Doodles. Hell, Mo probably got sick, eating and drinking that crap at that cockamamie Breakfast With Mo promotion before the Wood. With Repole, it's do what he says but, don't dare question him about what he does. So much for all the effort to get the public "close to" Uncle Mo, emulating the Zenyatta approach. Well Mo, you're no Zenyatta! And, your connections, can't handle the truth, because they're still really only focused on themselves.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-43631347186969863352011-04-27T21:34:13.220-04:002011-04-27T21:34:13.220-04:00I hate Vic Stauffer!I hate Vic Stauffer!Johnnienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-51232794271185518312011-04-27T17:52:30.743-04:002011-04-27T17:52:30.743-04:00Vic Stauffer is Ok but is to much of a screamer.Vic Stauffer is Ok but is to much of a screamer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-13864260586122654292011-04-27T16:08:15.783-04:002011-04-27T16:08:15.783-04:00Bobby Nystrom should replace Durkin.Bobby Nystrom should replace Durkin.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-4169225603848893942011-04-27T12:58:00.900-04:002011-04-27T12:58:00.900-04:00Unfortunatly, you make a good point about Mr. Repo...Unfortunatly, you make a good point about Mr. Repole. Though I think he is a great owner and very good for the sport, the bottom line is, there will only be "full disclosure" when the connections want to give "full disclosure". Not to mention, most owners, unless they are hands-on horsepeople, only know what their trainer and vets tell them. They don't have the expertise and experience to know the subleties, the little changes in a horse's attitude , demeanor, soundness, etc, unless they are there with the horses, day in and day out.Susannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-77871567817587876252011-04-27T11:25:05.466-04:002011-04-27T11:25:05.466-04:00I dunno Jackie....if he's too stressed out, th...I dunno Jackie....if he's too stressed out, then imagine how stressed he'd be if the Triple Crown was on the line? As it is, he will call the Belmont at the track, though not on NBC. I hope he can deal with that with someone wins the first two legs, otherwise we'll have John Imbriale calling it!Alan Mannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12570505944559196118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-36624628452123261892011-04-27T11:06:08.854-04:002011-04-27T11:06:08.854-04:00It is a shame about Durkin he is the best around. ...It is a shame about Durkin he is the best around. I hope Colmus gets it, he is very good.

I'm just wondering if Uncle Mo won the Wood and was still a super star potential Triple Crown winner would Durkin have left? He knows a horse winning the Belmont for the Triple Crown would be the call of a lifetime and would go down in history, so my theory is that he was holding out to see if there was one of those superstars out there this year. Since there isn't, he chose to quit. If Mo was still undefeated my guess is Durkin is still calling this years races. Anyone else agree?Jackienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-28859356363278684392011-04-27T09:56:50.876-04:002011-04-27T09:56:50.876-04:00Looks like NYRA is paying the LIRR to restore dire...Looks like NYRA is paying the LIRR to restore direct train service to Belmont. I guess when you really think about it, it's quite a challenge to call a 20 horse race in 2 minutes.
Durkin said his decision to not call the race this year was a "great personal decision and a terrible business decision"
Colmus or Denman you would think would be logical replacements, but they have big shoes to fill. As long as they dont give it to the guy who called the Arkansas Derby !
GWAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
