Interesting to see that action in Vegas, but you're right about Derby winners historically needing a start at two. He's a half to minor stakes winner Quiet Dare. Otherwise he seems light on pedigree until you go back to his 4th dam, State. She's the dam of some nice stakes winners, such as Region, Announce, and Double Feint. In addition, from her progeny descends horses like Preach, the dam of Pulpit, as well as Johnannesburg and Tale of the Cat.

But Point Given, man, can you believe he's only had two winners from his first crop?? You gotta love the people who do his PR at Three Chimney:

Two stakes performers and eighty percent starters hit the board for POINT GIVEN

(He has two foals that placed in minor stakes, and 10 of his 12 starters have finished in the money.)

His fee remains at 50K for 2006, but he's going to have to pick up the pace.Alan Mannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12570505944559196118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-1134599874003366282005-12-14T17:37:00.000-05:002005-12-14T17:37:00.000-05:00Alan,What did we pay for the Real Quiet filly?
