Eight Belles does seem to have sped up the process of getting them banned however.Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02825526017096009319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-53266809744114812252008-10-31T10:05:00.000-04:002008-10-31T10:05:00.000-04:00Baning toe grabs had a lot to do with the analysis...Baning toe grabs had a lot to do with the analysis of the Eight Belles breakdown. The concussion injuries as a result of the hoof not sliding a bit on impact with the racing surface can be devastating.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-66068280414306800352008-10-31T09:19:00.000-04:002008-10-31T09:19:00.000-04:00Why hasn't there been more talk about the bann...Why hasn't there been more talk about the banning of front toe grabs and mud caulks? Zito, Jerkens, Levine, Hushion, Contessa, & Mclaughlin all use them and all have said they never saw them cause harm to the horses.
Even Asmussen used them on CURLIN in the Gold Cup. If there was any risk of harm being done to the horse why would they ever put them on Curlin??? It's just another angle I used as a gambler on those "off" track days and I have not read or seen the study done that made all these tracks outlaw them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-54614418775918852872008-10-31T07:14:00.000-04:002008-10-31T07:14:00.000-04:00I've watched a lot of Just Zip It's races and my a...I've watched a lot of Just Zip It's races and my amateur opinion is that she is hard-pressed to go six furlongs against any decent competition.
She really seems to run out of gas pretty quickly.
Can't they put a little more stamina work into her conditioning regimenn?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8711985.post-70120040929610992842008-10-31T00:29:00.000-04:002008-10-31T00:29:00.000-04:00One of Jerkens' winners was Storm Play, who may be...One of Jerkens' winners was Storm Play, who may be a fun horse to watch in the handicap division next year.El Angelohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14145024095815950963noreply@blogger.com
