Hollywood - Race 7
#2 Cosmic Queen (8/1 ml)
Highly regarded 2yo who never really panned out returned from a short layoff at her home base of Hollywood early this month and ran a huge race, getting bumped and shuffled back to last early before making a nice middle-move and going widest of all around the turn, then really poured it on late while way out in the middle of the track to win going away. Just a powerful stretch run there, and it certainly appears this filly is back on her game. Switches to grass for the first time here, but is quite well-bred for it with the excellent turf sire Sadler's Wells on her bottom side, and it's worth mentioning she dueled with the stakes winner Gabby's Golden Gal for six furlongs in her second start off the previous layoff. She was also pretty close to the outstanding stakes filly Witty in her subsequent start, so she's definitely been knocking heads with some good horses lately. Looks like she should get an honest pace to run at here, and another performance like her last one would make this filly pretty tough.
You shouldn't even tempt people with your hunch bets! I checked Friday's results for you: one scratch, at Canterbury, and everything else ran fourth or fifth! You are as bad as the Wizard!
