- The New York Racing Association will begin pre-race and post-race testing for "milkshakes" Feb. 16 at Aqueduct. Both forms of testing will be performed in an effort to collect data to determine the best method. - An increase in handle on its live product had led Tampa Bay Downs to raise purses 7% effective Feb. 15. [Bloodhorse] Interestingly, like Oaklawn, Tampa Bay has cut off all wagering from rebate shops.
- In the midst of its reconstruction and its fans huddled in an area at the top of the stretch, Gulfstream is down in attendance 50% and on-track handle by 35%. GM Scott Savin says, "We are very happy with both the handle and attendance figures to date." [Daily Racing Form]
