- A wacky start to the day at Churchill with big payoffs in the first; a 15-1 winner with a 40-1 second horse in a head-bobbing finish. Pletcher ran out of the money with an even money shot.
They're showing the pool in the Oaks/Derby double; there was over $1.6 million wagered in it, so the fact that Afleet Alex is favored in it could be significant. They are also speculating on the track being honest, based on this one race. That's one of my real pet peeves, like when a horse wires the first race and people declare the track as speed favoring.
