Rice Getting Overcooked!

- Takes the first with Ahvee's Destiny, and man, she's now won the last six races in a row in which she's had a horse. Let's double check that, going backwards:

1 - 9/2, 1st race - Ahvee's Destiny
2 - 9/1 - 8th race - Karakorum Elektra (entrymate finished 5th)
3 - 9/1 - 6th race - Hussonfirst
4 - 8/31 - 9th race - Arcanite
5 - 8/31 - 5th race - Hurricane Annie
6 - 8/30 - 9th race - Bar City
Note that these were all on the grass. She has one more coming up today, a three-year old first-timer, on the grass of course, in the 11th. Two of these winners, Bar City and Hussonfirst, were also making their debut. Influential is by River Keen out of a mare by Roy, and has a Tomlinson rating of 211.

Yeah and Hurricane Annie was taking a big class jump off a 6 month layoff and had never tried grass or the distance. The spot was so odd, it almost tempted me to bet her (if you know what I mean...)...but alas, I let her go and she killed my win3. (I suppose you could argue she was 'bet down' but at 11-1 or so off a 20-1 line, I didn't view that as significant).

Rice and Contessa.

Both will likely finish in the 2nd and 3rd slots.

Is this a sign of how degraded the breed has become?

Or this is a sign of how overrated Saratoga has become?
