Discreet Cat beat Invasor in the Dubai World cup pretty convincingly. I think they can still get both Bern and DC to Dubai for March, retire both right after the race, plenty of time to book mares for the Spring. I would imagine the book fills up no matter how high they set the fee.
Patrick - Is there any precedent for them racing a horse in Dubai in March and then immediately retiring them? I so badly want to believe that there's still a chance that they'll race each other.
Patrick, if they stand them in the Southern Hemisphere you are correct, but there would not be enough time to stand to a full book in the North. They could retire immediately and breed solely to their own mares and maybe have a book of 40 each.

If the Sheikh races them it will be on his turf and on his dime in Dubai. I know I'm already looking forward to March.
I'll bet you a dollar to a donut (not a great bargain anymore) that Bernardini is retired within 48 hours of the Classic.
I love the Smiths reference...when I lived near Manchester, I used to see people going on Smiths tours, which was entertaining.
Not entertaining is the possibility of Bernardini and/or Discreet Cat heading to the breeding shed at the end of the season...
I still refuse to put Discreet Cat in the Classic division until he runs in a race I feel qualifies!

Breeding season starts on July 4th, so plenty of time.
