Keeneland Quickie

- Pletcher is 4 for 12 at Keeneland, and has two winners in the last two racing days (coming into Sunday), including the nice return to the races by Ravel on Friday. He seems to like synthetics, and Pletcher spoke of the Strub series leading up to the Santa Anita Handicap.

Mott won two on Saturday to give him a meet-leading seven (out of 22 starters). I caught a little of TVG's coverage, with Gary Stevens, Simon Bray, and Todd Scrmmpppfff on hand, and Jill Byrne reporting from the paddock. After Mott won the 5th with 21-1 Platinee, the boys were singing the praises of the trainer, and jumping on board his remaining three runners on the day. None of those won, however, two of them favorites, and the last one running second to the Toddster's Rocket Legs in the finale. That's two in a row for this three-year old son of Dynaformer, and a successful Poly debut after racing exclusively on turf. Rocket Legs is out of a Pulpit mare who's a half-sister to the multiple graded winner Great Intentions, and hails from the distaff family of the possible Juvenile favorite War Pass (the second dam of War Pass is the third dam of Rocket Legs).
